Qi Gong Workshop
with Kim Peters Millman Qigong is an ancient Chinese health care system that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques and focused intention. The word Qigong is made up of two Chinese words. Qi is pronounced chee and is usually translated to mean life force energy. Life force energy is an innate power that courses through you, nature and the universe. This power is not about brute force or strength, it's like a blade of grass breaking through cement, it's an intrinsic power that comes from within. The second word, Gong means accomplishment or skill that is cultivated through practice. Together, Qigong means cultivating energy, it is a system practiced for health maintenance, healing and increasing vitality. Good Morning Qi Gong will build vitality, so we are full of energy all day. Develops an inner calm so we can be stress free, all day. Brings body awareness and helps us access spiritual guidance and inspiration. We will be Awakening chi, by activating the lymphatic system, blood vessels, nervous system, meridians and chi. We will Build and Cultivate chi, by opening the meridians to feel energy in all of our cells. We will Store the chi, just like charging a battery, to maintain vitality throughout our day. Good Evening Qi Gong helps us to clear stress out of our nervous system, and tension from our muscles. It opens the heart and soothes the mind to bring us back to a place of centre and balance. We will Cleanse the chi, releasing all energy that no longer serves us. We will Calm the chi, preparing us for a restful night so We will Accumulate chi while sleeping.
